Competitive farmers who are safe in their workplace

Dozens of farmers from the Western part of Romania have the chance to participate in professional training courses which will help them identify solutions for issues of safety and protection in the workplace.

The Centre for Promoting Lifelong Learning in Timisoara is developing, through european funds and the LLP Transfer of Innovation program, the ” SOCIAL COMPETENCE development at work in the AGRIculture sector. Health at SAFETYat work” number 2011-1-ES1-LEO05-36046.

The training courses were developed by the FUNDAGRO foundation in the Navarra region of Spain, and they talk about safety and health in the workspace for the prevention of risk in agriculture for farmers as well as other people involved in agricultural work.

From the West of the country, 30 or 40 farmers will be selected, who will then take classes in Timis county. According to their needs, next year the study schedule will be appointed, so that in 2013 actual training can begin.

CPIP Timișoara has started promoting this project in the Western area and is trying to identify farmers interested in participating in this project.

Partners in this work include the Council of Agricultural Organizations from Bulgaria, the European Center of Quality from Bulgaria and the Asociation for Personal Development Initiatives “Lacjum” in Krakaw, Poland.
